Our church staff (l-r): Youth worker Alex Mulholland, Pastor Mark Bentham, Pastoral Assistant Rosie Walker

Rev Mark Bentham

Pastor Mark BenthamMark is a strong, consistent Bible teacher and preacher. He places emphasis on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that enables the follower to model what Jesus taught when he called Christians not to just recruit converts, but make a difference in the community in which they live. This he believes will be the emphasis of his ministry in Ayr as he is passionate about encouraging believers to be ‘salt & light’ in their local community.

Mark is married to Sally, a Children’s Nurse by profession, and they have two children. Apart from a busy family life, Mark’s other interests are reading and DIY. He also has a passion for music, not least playing the piano, singing and leading congregations in praise.

He led the worship for a number of years at the Bible Convention ‘Keswick in Buckie’ and is involved in our own Baptist Union of Scotland where he currently serves as Chair of the Assembly Planning Task Group.

Pastoral Assistant Rosie Walker

Assistant Pastor Rosie WalkerRecognising the importance of small groups in the life of Ayr Baptist Church, Rosie Walker was appointed as Pastoral Assistant in November 2005.

Rosie is responsible for Small Group Development, Training and Resourcing of leaders in the Church. She has over ten years of experience in facilitating Home Fellowship Groups, and more recently the Church Discipleship programme.

Rosie, who was previously involved in writing Youth and Children’s material for Scripture Union Scotland, wrote and promoted the SU Schools National Competition for 4 years.

A joint honours Old and New Testament BD graduate from the University of Aberdeen, Rosie is married and integrates Church life in and around a very busy family of three children.

Youth Worker Alex Mulholland

Youth worker Alex MulhollandAlex has a passion for Jesus, young people, and seeing Jesus working in the lives of young people. He seeks to encourage young people to keep it real with God, searching Him and growing in their personal relationships with Christ.

An evangelist at heart Alex aims to encourage and equip all believers to share the good news and stand up and be counted. Alex spent six years in Germany where he worked as a schools evangelist, and as a youth worker for a church in the heart of Stuttgart’s red light district.

He is married to Vanessa (a native German) and they have two wonderful children.
